GRAND IDOL

CHECK OUT this virtual singing competition like no other! I am proud to have created, directed, and produced 3 seasons of GRAND IDOL during the Fall of 2020. Through the use of programs including iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Facebook, GarageBand, and Switcher Studio, this 3-month project included weekly episodes featuring performances from over 60 contestants spanning the U.S., Canada, and South America. Through a combination of live streaming and pre-recorded material, Grand Idol was born during a time when the future of live theatre was uncertain. Filmed entirely through the use of iPhones, iPads, DSLRs, and MacBooks, we were able to create a safe environment to keep the arts alive during the COVID-19 Pandemic through minimum contact and by diving into the virtual performance world. Between live-streaming and posted material, the 3 seasons and 1 Grand finale (totaling 13 episodes) reached almost 1 million people via multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. All material was recorded and wrapped weekly with a 5-day turn-around on editing/producing each episode.
