Check out this virtual singing competition like no other! I am proud to have created, directed, and produced 3 seasons of GRAND IDOL. Through the use of programs including iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Facebook, and Switcher Studio. This 3-month project included weekly episodes featuring performances from over 60 contestants spanning the U.S., Canada, and South America. Through a combination of live streaming and pre-recorded material, Grand Idol was born during a time when the future of live theatre was uncertain. Keeping the arts alive during the COVID-19 Pandemic! Starting in May 2020, I worked to reunite performers from previous Grand Theatre shows to record and produce music videos and release performances via Facebook, Instagram & YouTube with the THERE WILL BE LIGHT PROJECT. I was able to produce 12 music video performances and help keep the arts alive during a dark time for the theatre community. I was inspired by one of my favorite shows (NEXT TO NORMAL) when coming up with the title and meaning behind this project.
